Job Description:

  •  Assists management in the administering and coordinating of on-site project construction efforts.

  • Provides accurate layout, maintains bench marks, provides plan and specification interpretation for all jobsite personnel.

  • Maintains construction technical catalogs, vendor data, MSDS sheets and other information pertaining to the projects.

  • Completes updates and maintains all of project’s daily, weekly and monthly logs, schedules and reports and maintains job site’s office in an orderly manner.

  • Takes weekly job progress photographs.

  • Attends subcontractor and job site meetings, conducts in superintendent or project manager’s absence and takes notes for distribution.

  • Conducts weekly safety inspections and ensures corrective action.

  • Assists in maintaining active communications with owners, architects, engineers, vendors and all stakeholders throughout the course of all projects regarding progress and any necessary modifications of plans.

  • Assists in managing construction supervision in resolving construction problems, improving construction methods, ensuring workmanship conforms to specifications, and the environment is safe and secure.

  • Documents all important conversations and meetings.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B .S.) from a four-year college or university program certificate plus 0-1 years of job related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as plans and specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; to write routine reports and correspondence; and to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

  • Knowledge of Database software; Estimating software; Project Management software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software

Job Description:

 

The duties include but are not limited to: Providing planning and programming expertise for GRU and GRMC related projects. This is inclusive of assembling project estimates and schedules for end users in a timely manner, and at conceptual stages (without architectural drawings and specifications). Coordinating the design of small, routine, and large/complex projects including conceptual design, design development, and construction documents to ensure satisfactory compliance with campus standards, maintenance needs, operational (work flow) and end user needs in accordance with Regulatory Codes and guidelines including, but not limited to, Board of Regents, Department of Community Health, OSHA, NFPA, The Joint Commission, SACS, and AIA guidelines/codes. Coordinating and assisting the contractor in all project meetings pre-construction project meetings, relocation meetings with other departments, biweekly construction project meetings, and any break off meetings). Coordinating any relocation that has to happen prior to construction starting. Taking part in all coordination between the architect/engineers and contractors with respective Enterprise departments. Attending pre-construction risk assessment, infection control risk assessment and interim life safety measures meetings with contractors every week. Coordinating furniture, fixtures and equipment. Determining delivery dates and installations dates. Developing and managing project budgets, change orders, field authorizations and design authorizations. Protecting GRU maintainability throughout the design and construction process. Assisting in all space requests, and other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering Construction or Planning with a minimum of three years' related supervisory experience.

•Must have good computer skills (experience with Primavera, Blue Beam or Expedition are a plus).

•Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor/co-workers/clients/vendors and take direction from site manager.
